Whom do we cater for? This is primarily to cater for outstation brides who have time constraints and expect to arrive in Kerala a week or two prior to the wedding. Online customisation is easier when the bride-to-be has a clear picture of the kind of wedding dress she envisions. Due to time-zone difference online discussions take longer than face-to-face discussions. Hence it is always recommended for brides-to-be to plan ahead such that the discussions are kicked off at least 3 or 4 months prior to the wedding. Depending on the design, we at D’Aisle need 1 – 2 months for making a custom gown. This could be slightly longer during peak wedding seasons. So it’s always advisable to start ahead. It is also important to plan sufficient time for trial and alterations.
For brides, who do not have a clear idea of what dress suits them or does not have any inspiration pictures, we recommend that you choose a bridal gown from the large collection of readymade wedding gowns that we have at our stores in Kochi(Ernakulum) and Trivandrum (Thiruvananthapuram). The readymade wedding gowns can be modified and altered to suit the bride’s requirements. We have readymade wedding gowns of every silhouette at our store. The advantage that this offers is that you can touch, feel, and compare different types before finalising which gown will be the one for you.
- How is online customisation done?

- Our designers will request the bride to share full size pictures to understand what silhouette will suit the bride.
- Thereafter, the designer will request the bride for her inspiration pictures and also try to understand what aspect of the inspiration picture the bride wants to incorporate in her wedding dress.
- The designer will also suggests modifications or additions in the design so as to suit the bride.
- A sketch will be drawn based on the discussion and will be sent to the bride on WhatsApp. Together with this, we’ll also forward pictures of materials that could be used for the gown. If the bride has any specific fabric / lace / applique requirement then we’ll try to source similar options and the pictures will be forwarded to the bride. Sourcing of specific appliques depends on the time available with the bride. Generally sourcing and thereafter sending pictures could vary anything between 2 to 7 days.The cost is also discussed at this stage so that some additions and deletions can be undertaken to suit the bride’s budget.
- Discuss with the bride any modifications that are required in the sketch and modify the sketch as per the inputs from the bride. The final costing is done at this stage.
- Confirm the final sketch and schedule an appointment for a video call for taking measurements.
- During the video call, a measuring tape and a friend / relative will be required by the side. Our designers will guide the bride on how to go about the measurement taking.
- Post obtaining the measurement, we start our process of pattern making and gown building.
- Once the gown is ready the designer will get in touch with the bride to schedule the trial. The number of trials necessary may vary from 1 to a maximum of 3 depending on the type of alterations required.
• How is the payment done?
Half the payment needs to be done by online remittance after the order is confirmed on taking measurements. The remaining payment needs to be done on the day of delivery after the final fittings.
