Every bride walks in with a vision.
But sometimes, that vision isn’t clear at first — and that’s completely okay.
When Chippy Devassy came to us seven months before her wedding, she arrived with excitement, a collection of beautiful references, and a schedule packed with work. As an actor known for her vibrant energy, our conversations happened in phases. But beneath every changing idea was one question she was quietly trying to answer.
What do I truly want to feel when I see myself as a bride?
That answer slowly shaped a custom bridal gown that was deeply personal to her — designed by our bridal brand based in Kochi, Kerala.
The Beginning
A Bride With Many Beautiful Ideas
Our early design conversations moved in every direction. One day we were talking about sparkle. Then the direction shifted to rich gold tones. Then florals entered the picture. Each reference Chippy shared was beautiful — but they didn’t yet belong to the same story.
It wasn’t confusion. It was exploration.
With her busy schedule, the process required patience. Instead of rushing into decisions, we let her ideas breathe. Over time, she realised that popular bridal silhouettes — A-lines and mermaids — didn’t resonate with her emotionally.
She wasn’t searching for a silhouette. She was searching for a feeling — a presence, a memory she wanted to bring to life through her bridal gown.
The Turning Point
When the Real Dream Revealed Itself
The answer, when it finally came, arrived from an unexpected place: her childhood. Chippy remembered watching Disney princesses, being drawn to their softness, their volume, their sense of fairytale elegance. That feeling had never truly left her.
She realised she wanted a look rooted in English vintage romance — timeless and structured, with statement sleeves, graceful drama, and generous volume, yet still refined and deeply personal.
Suddenly, everything made sense. The sparkle, the florals, the romance — they weren’t scattered ideas. They were fragments of the same dream, waiting to be woven together through thoughtful custom gown design.

The Design
One Gown, Two Transformations
Rather than designing two separate gowns, we created one custom bridal piece with two distinct lives.
A detachable overskirt created the volume and grandeur she had always imagined — a princess-like presence for the aisle. Dramatic, romantic, and timeless.
With the overskirt removed, a sleeker and more glamorous silhouette emerged. The shimmer, textures, and intricate detailing took centre stage, letting her personality shine.
The sparkle, florals, and volume she had once described all came together — each element simply placed where it belonged. This is the beauty of truly personalised bridal gown design.

The Trial Day
An Emotional First Look
Chippy is known for her expressive, lively personality — and trial day carried that same energy: excitement, anticipation, and emotion all at once.
The moment she saw herself in the gown, everything became real. Her eyes filled with tears, but through them came unmistakable joy. It was the kind of reaction that happens when a bride finally sees her dream take form in front of her.
Then her mother saw her.
That moment between them is something we will never forget. They looked at each other — overwhelmed, holding hands, filled with pride, love, and the quiet realisation that a new chapter was beginning. As designers, witnessing a mother and daughter share that kind of moment is why working in the bridal space is so extraordinary. Even our team found it hard not to feel emotional watching it unfold.
The Wedding Day
Chippy & Chris
Their wedding reflected exactly who they are — warm, sincere, and filled with quiet magic. Looking through their photographs, you feel their happiness immediately.
Her gown transitioned beautifully between both looks, carrying her from a regal ceremony presence to an elegant reception style without ever losing its essence. The design didn’t overpower her. It completed her. That is always the goal of a thoughtfully designed bridal gown.

Chippy’s journey is proof that sometimes a bride doesn’t need more inspiration — she needs time to listen to herself. Beneath the busy schedule and the ever-changing references was a childhood dream that had never truly left her.
On her wedding day, she didn’t just wear a bridal gown. She wore a memory — and the little girl who once believed in princesses, now all grown up.
